Three-day SJM national workshop begins
Tirupati, Aug 10 (UNI) A three-day National Swadeshi Workshop, organised jointly by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and SVETA (Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy) in collaboration with the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM), was inaugurated by TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy here today.
Speaking on the occasion, he said India had spiritual history, while the other countries had political and economic history.
''Swadesh samskriti'' was attacked under the British rule and western culture had done great harm to the country, he opined.
SJM National Steering Committee Member K N Govindacharya said the workshop would focus on 'swadharma', 'swalambhana' and 'swarajya', which had played a key role in promoting culture in the country. It was needed to reinstate temple culture for social activity by involving people, he said.
Hundreds of SJM workers from across the country attended the workshop.
