Seven killed in Polynesia air crash
CANBERRA, Aug 10 (Reuters) At least seven people were killed in a plane crash in French Polynesia, French police said.
An Air Moorea Dornier aircraft overshot Moorea Island runway and crashed into a lagoon yesterday after taking off from the capital Papeete, a police spokesman in Papeete said by telephone.
There was no immediate information on the nationality of those killed or whether there were survivors.
''The investigation is underway there now and police are still combing the area,'' the spokesman said.
The plane crashed around 12:15 pm local time yesterday.
