Punjab to develop master plan for Rajpura and Tripari
Chandigarh Aug 10 (UNI) Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) and Town Planning Department would soon prepare a master plan for the development of Rajpura and Tripari towns in Patiala district as modern cities.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of Pepsu Township Development Board held here under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
In the meeting, it was decided that PUDA and Town Planning Department would conduct a joint survey to study the possibilities to develop ultra modern infrastructure with multi-story complexes and residential apartments with commercial viability. Besides, plan for a hospital, educational institutions including a college for girls, a sports stadium and a community centre would also be finalised in the next few weeks.
Mr Badal informed that with the concerted efforts of the state government the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest had approved Patiala, Zirakpur, Dera Bassi and Rajpura under Gaggar action plan.
He further said that he would seek more funds under other centrally sponsored development schemes for Rajpura and Tripari towns.
