Prince of Arcot condemns attack on Taslima

Chennai, Aug 10 (UNI) Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali today condemned the attack on Bangladesh writer Taslima Nasreen by the legislators of Majlis-e-Ittehadual Muslimeen at Hyderabad Press Club on Thursday.

''The legislators may disagree with the views of Ms Taslima, but they can always join issue with her intellectually and not resort to physical attacks, which was not the way of the Holy Prophet,'' he said in a statement here .

''A true Muslim should strictly adhere to the religion and not indulge in violent behaviour, which was against the tenets of Islam'', he added.
