Path Kheri feeder becomes 1st CFL feeder in Gurgaon
Chandigarh, Aug 10 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has completed its campaign for replacement of incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in the entire area of Path Kheri feeder under the Operation Circle, Gurgaon.
A DHBVN spokesman said this feeder fed ten villages of district Mewat namely Kubrakhawas, Sidhrawal, Bhatanagar, Dudoli, Bilonda, Nangal, Path Kheri, Khudiapwas, Cahinpuri and Bhond.
This is the first CFL feeder of the Operation Circle Gurgaon and sixth in the area of DHBVN.
He said the Nigam officials campaigned for seven days in these ten villages. The officials went from door to door along with Sarpanches villages and persuaded the residents to replace the traditional power guzzler yellow bulbs with energy efficient CFLs. He said these villages were being supplied power through 19 power distribution transformers of various capacities on which domestic load during peak load hours had reduced by about 50 per cent after replacement of incandescent bulbs.
The DHBVN officials got cooperation of the Sarpanches, members of Panchayat and other opinion leaders in these villages for completing the task. The villagers readily agreed to shift to CFLs for lighting as they were aware about the benefits of it, he added.
