Five member gang indulged in fake notes arrested

Hubli, Aug 10 (UNI) Police have busted a racket that indulged in circulating fake currency in the city and arrested five members of a gang hailing from West Bengal and Jharkhand.

Acting on a tip off police nabbed Ziaula, Ibrahim Shaikh of Mobattapur in West Bengal and Azruddin, Barkat Bola and Mohammad Aslam of Jarkhand from the railway station here last night. All the five were staying at lodges near APMC on pretext of onion purchasers.

All the accused were aged between 18 and 23.

They have been remanded to Judicial custody by a magistrate before whom they were produced.

A police team from here was expected to leave for West Bengal and Jharkhand for further investigation, Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash said.
