184 passengers to sail for Andaman on Aug 14
Port Blair, Aug 10 (UNI) Altogether 184 stranded passengers, who were left behind by an Andaman bound ship at Kolkata Port on August 7, would be sailing for Andaman and Nicobar Islands on August 14.
Secretary of Shipping Services in Andaman Sanjeev Khirwar told UNI here today, that the passengers, left behind by M V Harshavardhana, have been provided tickets for M V Akbar, a vessel, scheduled to sail for Port Blair on August 14. ''We are making sure that all these passengers do not face any problem in Kolkata,'' he added.
SCI had floated advertisement regarding the change of timings, informing that the departure of M V Harshavardana would be between 1000 hours and noon, instead of the usual 1550-1730 hours. However, it seemed that many of the passengers failed to spot the ad, sources in Kolkata's Deputy Resident Commissioner office said.
