US contributes 50,000 Dollars for flood relief

New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) The United States has contributed 50,000 Dollars (Rs 2,000,000) to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for relief to the victims of the recent floods in India, the US embassy here announced today.

US Amdassador to India David C Mulford, while making the announcement, in a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the US stood ready to further support if needed.

He expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the floods.

The funds have been made available through the US Ambassador's Humanitarian Relief Fund and provided by the US Agency for International Development's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance.
