Twelve new units approved by single window authority
Shimla, Aug 9 (UNI) Approval was granted to 12 new industrial units with investment of Rs 403 crore and employment potential of 1,776 persons by the Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority.
Speaking at the 28th meeting of the authority held here today, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh emphasised the need to explore possibilities to revive the once prestigious Nahan Foundry and examine options for utilisation of the sprawling space.
Mr Singh said that during last four and half year, the state had succeeded in attracting investment of Rs. 27,381 crore having employment potential of 3,37,391 persons.
He said that the state, with sufficient floating power, land and water, was capable of creating the standardised infrastructure which could cater to the best industrial environment.
However, the state government was not encouraging the pollutant, over-power consuming and low-employment potential industrial units to protect the environment of the hill state, he stressed.
