New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the transparency and social dialogue have to be the essence of the industrial relations.

Speaking at a seminar on 'Building Industry Competitiveness Through Improved Labour Practices' organised by the Faridabad Small Industries Association here today, Mr Hooda said that harmonious industrial relations are only possible with mutual trust and common goals.

He said ''this is the key to development of a productive and loyal workforce''.

He said that the productivity is more important than production as only this can ensure quality products and services at minimal competitive cost. This could be optimised only when the human resource is made to feel as an integral part of the business activity.

Mr Hooda said that the first strategy of optimising productivity competitiveness is the building of better partnership between managers and the workforce.

He said that this approach leads to higher productivity, improved profitability, harmonious industrial relations and increased job security.

He said that the need of the day is to put the right man on the suitably right job and has to be paid good wages and compensated properly, not for the work done in eight hours a day, but for his mental and physical contribution to the profits and growth of the organisation.

Haryana has a large number of industrial enterprises having high-tech facilities and foreign collaborations which demonstrate international productivity levels, he said adding that the State has a large number of leading technology and management institutes and students graduating from those programmes are capable of unmatched productivity and value creation.

The Chief Minister said that Haryana has been promoting the industry with the best of facilities and environment.

He said ''our Industrial Policy has produced results and we have the best industrial growth in the country and Haryana is the first State to have a Structured Labour Policy''.

Mr Hooda said that the State Government is keen to act as facilitators for the much needed change in the industry and its progress.

The Chief Minister said that the market today is highly competitive and trade barriers have been lifted between the countries and now it is the survival of the fittest.
