Torrent Pharma launches Fibotab

Ahmedabad, Aug 9 (UNI) City-based pharma major Torrent Pharma has launched Fibotab (Calcium Polycarbophil) for the first time in India.

Fibotab is the first bulk laxative in a tablet form and offers multiple benefits over conventional Isabgol options available in the market today, the company has claimed.

Fibotab scores over conventional Isabgol in terms of compliance as it is available in tablet form and offers benefits like no mixing in water, a company release said here today. Fibotab presents significantly less incidence of flatulence than natural fiber, as it doesn't ferment in the colon unlike Isabgol.

The market for bulk laxatives is worth around Rs 40 crores and is growing at 8 per cent annually, the release said..

According Torrent vice president Shivender Aggarwal, ''This novel formulation will revolutionise the treatment options for chronic constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.'' UNI
