TN BSNL dials pvt cos for value added services

Chennai, Aug 9: The Tamil Nadu Circle of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has invited companies to enter into short-term agreement for providing voice-based Value Added Services (VAS) on revenue sharing basis.

To be valid for three months, the agreement will be restricted to the local area of Tamil Nadu Telecom Circle, official sources here today said.

Once the agreement is reached, private parties should provide basic telephony VAS to customers at a pulse rate of 60 seconds within the local area.

For mobile telephony customers, the company should charge Rs two per minute. In case services were available on intra circle basis, the tariff shall be revised accordingly.

The revenue share would be Re 0.15 per minute on accumulated minutes for all calls within the concerned circle, whether from basic telephone or mobile customers.

The content providers were not required to provide any bank guarantee, the sources added.
