New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) There was some respite for Delhiites today from the hot and humid conditions with the mercury in the Capital dropping to 35 Degrees Celsius.

Though the maximum temperature of 35 Degrees Celsius still remained two degrees above normal, the drop, from 36.5 Degree C yesterday, provided some relief from the hot and humid weather being experienced in the city over the last few days.

Further relief from the humid conditions was provided by cool South Easterly winds blowing through the city.

After three days of sunny weather, a cloudy sky welcomed people of Delhi this morning. Thereafter, the weather remained predominantly cloudy, interspersed with brief periods of sunny weather.

After the weekend's heavy showers had eluded the Capital for the last three days, which has led to a return to hot and humid conditions in Delhi since the beginning of the week.

Some more relief could be in offing for the people of Delhi in the coming days with the weather office forecasting more rainfall activity in Delhi and other plains of Northwest India towards the weekend under the influence of a fresh low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal by tomorrow.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during ther next 24 hours with the possibility of rain or thundershowers in a few areas.
