Slight rainfall in some areas

Kolkata, Aug 9 (UNI) Kolkata and its adjoining areas today witnessed a hot, sultry day with slight rainfall in some parts.

The Alipore Met office recorded a maximum temperature of 33.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 27.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.

The high humidity at 95 per cent added to the discomfort of the Kolkatans.

The Met office forecast a partly cloudy sky with possibility of one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
