Rs 228 crore employment plan for Basti division

Siddharthnagar, Aug 9 (UNI) An action plan worth Rs 228 crore will be initiated to provide employment under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in Basti divison of Uttar Pradesh.

''An action plan of Rs 59.78 crore has been proposed for Basti, Rs 15.02 crore for Sant Kabirnagar and Rs 153 crore for Siddharthnagar district,'' Commissioner of Basti division T P Pathak told UNI here.

Rs 43.46 crore had already been released for the implementation of the programme in the division, in which Basti, Sant Kabirnagar and Siddharthnagar districts account for Rs 15.57 crore, Rs 11.37 crore and Rs 16.51 crore respectively.

Besides, 17,885 job cards had been distributed in Basti, 6,750 in Sant Kabirnagar and 6,048 in Siddhathnagar.
