Rahman murder case, 13 accused acquitted
Baripada, Aug 9 (UNI) Mayurbhanj District and Sessions Judge Sacidananda Sahu today acquitted 13 of the 38 accused, under various Sections of the IPC in the Sheikh Rahman murder case.
The district and sessions judge observed that no incriminating material was found against the 13 accused and acquitted them.
Dara Singh, alias Ravindra Pal Singh, the prime accused in the murder case, denied his involvement in the murder case, in his statement.
According to the prosecution, Dara Singh and his 38 accomplices raided the Padiabeda Weekly market on August 26, 1999, and murdered garment dealer Sheikh Rahaman, looted his shop and set it ablaze.
The district and sessions judge adjourned the case to August 29 when the defence witnesses will be heard.
