Police firing at Mudigonda unfortunate: Digvijay

Hyderabad, Aug 9 (UNI) While condemning the police firing in Mudigonda in Khammam District on July 28, where seven people were killed, All India Congress Committee General Secretary Digvijay Singh today said the Andhra Pradesh Government had responded immediately by ordering a Judicial Inquiry into it.

Talking to newspersons, after attending the State Coordination and Manifesto Implementation Committees meeting here, he said the Government had immediately transferred the District Superintendent of Police, and suspended the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Circle Inspector and Sub-inspector, besides providing highest compensation to the kin of the deceased.

Mr Digvijay said West Bengal Government had not ordered any judicial inquiry or provided any compensation and rehabilitation to the victims in police firing in Nandigram. Even the TDP Government had not given any compensation to the victims in the police firing during their tenure, he added.
