NCC cadet's death: Associations demand Commodore's suspension
Tirupati, Aug 9 (UNI) As many as 2,000 students of S V Arts College, led by AISF, SFI and TNSF, today staged a dharna in front of the Revenue Divisional Office (RDO), demanding the suspension of a commodore who was allegedly responsible for the death of a NCC cadet.
According to police, Mani (21), a B Com student of the college, hailing from Gangadhar Nellor in Chittoor district, was electrocuted at Nuzuvedu railway station in Krishna district on August four during NCC camp and received severe burns on his arm.
It was alleged that the commodore of the NCC camp, Pandon, without informing the other students in the camp, had immediately sent Mani back to Tirupati, denying him treatment or assistance.
Later, he was admitted to the Ruia Government Hospital here on August six, where he succumbed to injuries today.
The agitators also demanded an inquiry into the incident and submitted a memorandum to RDO Bappaiah, who provided a compensation of Rs 10,000 to the family of the deceased.
