Motherson Sumi inks JV with Japan's Calsonic Kansei

New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) Country's auto parts maker Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd today said it has formed a 49:51 joint venture (JV) with Japan's Calsonic Kansei to produce auto components in India.

The JV company, Calsonic Kansei Motherson Auto Products Ltd (CKM), will begin production in 2009 with the manufacture and sale of air conditioning units for Japanese car makers that have operations in India, a company statement said.

CKM will get advantage of strong synergies as Calsonic Kansei will provide product and manufacturing technology which will be supported by Company's high performance development/production engineering in the fields of polymer moulding and tool making.

The business will be further complimented by the well established manufacturing facilities of the company at various locations, it added.
