IBS-Kochi to open on Aug 11

Kochi, Aug 9: The International Business School (IBS), promoted by Non-Resident Indians (NRI) in association with the Management Centre Inssbruck in Austria will be inaugurated on August 11.

Talking to newspersons here yesterday, IBS founder-Director Jay Kandampully said the school would offer an 18-month MBA programme with specialisation in marketing, services, finance, logistics, operations research, human resource development and retailing.

The programme would be of international standard with more emphasis on project execution and motivated learning, he said.

''The students selected on the basis of scores in GMAT and TOEFL will be imparted training in India and Austria apart from internship in a country of their choice,'' he noted.

The programme comprises of four modules foundation, core, specialisation and leadership and professional.

The school representatives signed a memorandum of association with the Austrian Centre headed by Dr Andreas Altman.

IBS Co-founder Mohan Thomas said the aim of the school was to nurture management education and research in India by providing students an opportunity to undertake innovative business education and research equivalent to international business schools.
