Hindu Mahasabha withdraws candidate for bypoll
Jamshedpur, Aug 9 (UNI) Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha(ABHM)candidate Anil Kumar Upadhyaya today announced to withdraw his name from the electoral fray for the August 29 Jamshedpur Lok Sabha bypoll .
Mr Upadhyaya was named the official candidate of ABMH on July 27 for the polls.
Talking to newspersons, Mr Upadhyaya said he took the decision primarily due to the 'non-cooperative' attitude of the central leadership of the party.
ABMH secretary for north-eastern state-cum-executive president of Jharkhand, Dharam Chand Poddar, said the three-member committee for the election had unanimously decided to withdraw the name of the party candidate for the bypolls.
Mr Poddar alleged some of the central leaders, who favoured the BJP, did not want the party to flourish and were hatching a conspiracy to hijack the party.
He said if needed he would go to the court against the leaders, who were trying to 'sabotage' the party.
He also threatened to work against BJP canididate Dinesh Sarangi.
''Our only aim is to defeat the BJP,'' Mr Poddar stated.
