Haier launches its first production plant in Pune

Mumbai, Aug 9 (UNI) Haier Appliances India, today announced the launch of its first manufacturing facility at Ranjangaon in Pune district as a part of its expansion operations in India.

Haier acquired the 40 acres facility in Pune from Daewoo Industries and will upgrade the new facility with state of the art equipments to create research and development (R&D) facility for refrigerators.

Haier (India) Managing Director Shi Zhiyuan said, ''Haier's target is to become one of the prominent players in the Indian market by following the localization strategy, where the R&D, manufacturing and marketing activities are carried out as per the local way.'' Company Chief Operating Officer Pranay Dhabhai said, ''India is a key market for Haier's global operations and the launch of our manufacturing and R&D unit investment is a reiteration of the company's long-term commitment to the Indian market.'' Haier's strategy has always been to grow at a consistent and steady pace. The primary commitment has always been to deliver premium quality products with the most ideal combination of quality, cost and delivery options, Mr Dhabhai added.

The company at its Ranjangaon facility plans to manufacture wide range of refrigerators and would later enhance the overall capacity to enable the increase of its customer reach and commitment to provide advanced quality products in the Indian market.
