First integrated animation studio by CDIL
New Delhi, Aug 9: Compact Disc India Ltd (CDIL) today said it will set up the country's first integrated animation studio at the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development corporation (KINFRA) at an initial investment of 12.40 million dollars.
KINFRA is the first SEZ developed exclusively for animation and gaming.
CDIL will set up an animation studio with the latest technology that will enable producers of animation films to avail the exclusive opportunity to completely produce their film at just one studio, rather than at different studios, said a statement.
''In the first stage of production, we aim to develop three animation films in partnership with renowned International media agencies and with MNCs,'' said company chairman Suresh Kumar.
The KINFRA SEZ will give boost to the nascent industry through tax cuts, no duties levy on machinery, free exports etc, thus ensuring an additional profit of 8-10 per cent, he added.
