Hyderabad, Aug 9 (UNI) The BJP today said both the Left Parties should snap ties with the Congress and withdraw support to the UPA Government at the Centre before continuing with their land movement.

Talking to newspersons here, BJP Official Spokesperson N Ranachandra Rao alleged that while innocent people lost their lives in Mudigonda village of Khammam District in police firing during the CPI(M)-led agitation recently, Communist leaders were holding talks with AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh, setting aside their earlier demand for removal of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and threat to withdraw support to the UPA.

Mr Rao alleged the Congress and the Communists were cheating the people according to a plan and had no commitment towards the provision of house sites to the poor.

Though his party was for land struggle, it opposed land grabbing.

''Land for the tiller had been the slogan of the BJP not only in Andhra Pradesh, but all over the country.'' He alleged old trees were being cut in the Osmania University Complex in the city in the guise of construction of 'Engineering Central Facility Centre' and a library, at the behest of the contractors, who, he alleged, were making crores of rupees by selling the logs with the connivance of University officials.

The BJP leader also mentioned the recent ACB raids on the 'Centre for English Language Learning and Training,' and demanded an inquiry into the irregularities in the Osmania University Complex.
