Cheats arrested in Barrackpore

Barrackpore, Aug 09 (UNI) A young couple of Naihati Mitrapara, under Naihati police station in North 24 Parganas, were arrested for allegedly cheating an owner of a plywood factory.

According to police, the accused Jhumur Ghosh Majumdar, wife of Deabjit Ghosh Majumder, an agent of HDFC Bank drew a loan of Rs 2.5 lakhs impersonating Dipti Mallick, owner of Dipti Plywood Factory in Naihati.

The couple were arrested as Mrs Mallick initiated a litigation for recovery of the loan granted her name.

Mrs Mallick, after obtaining an interim bail, appeared before the Bankshal Court in the city and lodged complaint against the couple.
