CAMO announces merger with Proteans

Bangalore, Aug 9 (UNI) CAMO ASA, a Norway-based global statistical software and Information Technology consulting firm today announced its merger with the city based Proteans Software Solutions, a leading Outsourced Product Development company.

According to a release here, with this transaction, the IT services group of CAMO would be significantly reinforced with a larger business in United States and Europe and a strong offshore OPD business.

CAMO IT services President Ashwani Jasti said the merger would strengthen the company's product outsourcing capabilities besides bringing in renewed focus on IT services and augmenting offshore presence.

CAMO ASA Chief Executive Officer Lars Osterberg Proteans was an excellent strategic fit for his company because of its tremendous client success ventures, technology and product development process expertise. '' We will now be able to provide high quality, cost- effective, outsourced engineering services in addition to our range of products, consulting and solutions,'' he added.

Proteans Chief Executive Officer Sudhakar Gorti said the CAMO brought in a great reputation in Scandinavian region and opened up a great market for its OPD services. Proteans had been growing at 250 per cent per annum and expected to be a 1,000 plus people company by 2010, he revealed.
