Guj: Alert in 26 Anand 12 Kheda villages

Anand, Aug 9: An alert has been sounded in 26 villages of Anand and 12 in Kheda districts after 5.5 lakh cusecs of water was released into Mahisagar river today.

Meanwhile, the torrential rains claimed two lives in Anand and Kheda districts due to wall collapse. A 12-year-old boy Bansibhai Salabhai died in Shatrunda village of Mehmadavad taluka today, when a part of his kutcha house collapsed. The boy died on the spot.

In another incident at Jahaj village in Khambhat taluka of Anand district, Pasi Dayabhai Harijan, 40, died when her house collaped. She was rushed to Khambhat hospital. where she died.
