Airline staff dies in road accident

Chennai, Aug 9 (UNI) A 23-year-old girl, an employee of the low cost KingFisher Airlines, died in a road accident at suburban Pallavaram late last night.

Police said the girl, Ramya, a staff in the airline counter at the airport here, was picked by her colleague Shaju Daniel (29) last evening in a two-wheeler, and they were on their way to the airport.

A private engineering college bus tried to overtake their two-wheeler near the crowded Pallavaram bus stand and hit the two-wheeler. Both Ramya and Shaju were thrown off from the vehicle.

Ramya sustained serious injuries and admitted to a private hospital at Pallavaram. As her condition turned critical, she was shifted to another private hospital where she died around 2300 hrs last night. Shaju escaped with minor injuries.

Tambaram police have registered a case.
