9 police jawans dismissed

Banda, Aug 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today dismissed nine police personnel in Chitrakoot division of the state, for producing forged caste certificate to get their posts.

All the appointments were effected in the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav regime.

Banda, Mahoba and Hamirupur districts accounted for six, two and one case respectively, Chitrakoot DIG Sriram Tripathi said here.

Besides, cases had also been registered against nine accused.
