19 ex-servicemen honoured

Chandigarh, Aug 9 (UNI) The Haryana government has honoured 19 ex-servicemen by "Sanad and Stick Award" for their outstanding contribution in the field of ex-servicemen welfare.

Haryana Governor A R Kidwai and Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda jointly honoured 19 ex-servicemen with this prestigious award at Haryana Raj Bhawan Chandigarh.

Secretary of Haryana Rajya Sainik Board Brig (Retd) K S Badhwar said the amount of the "Sanad and Stick Award" had been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 2000.

While giving the details about the awardees, he said there were total 19 awardees from the different districts of the states.

He said Mr Mahavir Singh Jakhar from Ambala, Rohtash Singh, Resident of Village Bass in district Bhiwani, Manfool Singh from Fatehabad district, K B Narang from Fridabad, Sant Ram Dahiya from Dhawanpur village in district Gurgaon, Ram Kumar from Hisar, Chander Singh from Jhajjar, Randhir Singh from Jind had been honoured by this Award.

Similarly Kirpal Singh from Kaithal, V P S Lathar from Karnal, Surender Singh from Kurukshetra, Mahender Singh Badesra from Narnaul, Maan Singh from Panchkula, Balwant from Panipat, Mr Chanderhas Yadav from Rewari, Tek Ram Narwal from Rohtak, Inderjeet Singh from Sirsa, Jasbir Singh from Sonipat and Jogender Singh from Yamunanagar were the recipients of this award.

The awards had been given to those ex-servicemen of each district who had done commendable job in the field of ex-serviceman welfare.
