Vihar lake crosses overflow level

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) Following heavy rains in and around the city, Vihar lake, one of the seven lakes providing water to Mumbai, has crossed its overflow level of 80.42 THD (Tendering Hundred Water) and today and recorded a level of 80.48 THD.

Vihar is the third lake to have reached the overflow mark.

The other two lakes that reached the overflow level are Modak Sagar and Tulsi.

The water level at Tansa lake has neared its overflow level of 128.63 THD and was last recorded at 127.49 THD. The overflow level of Upper Vaitarna and Bhatsa lakes are 603.51 MSL (Multi Soil Layering) and 142.07 MSL, and the water level recorded at the lakes today was 601.74 MSL and 130.90 MSL respectively.
