Two hurt in city blast

Guwahati, Aug 08 (UNI) At least two persons were seriously injured in a bomb blast by the ULFA in the city this afternoon.

Police said the bomb was kept on a rickshaw near Hengerabari. The blasts injured two rickshaw pullers when a portion of a wall fell down upon them under the impact of the bomb.

Since Monday last, this is the sixth incident of bomb blast in Assam, two of them being in the Guwahati city alone.

According to intelligence sources, the ULFA would continue to bomb Guwahati and other parts of Assam in their renewed offensive till August 15, as they have already announced the boycott of the Independence Day program.
