Tight security for Sonia's visit
Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 8 (UNI) A thick security blanket will be thrown during UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi's visit to inaugurate the broad gauge section of the Pamban Bridge here on August 12.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was also expected to take part, in the function.
A three-tier security arrangement will be in place for the VVIP visit involving the police, Navy and the Coast Guard as the authorities expect heavy rush to the island due to 'Aadi Amavasya' (new moon in the Tamil Month of 'Aadi').
Special Protection Group SP Dinakaran reviewed the security arrangements at the helicopter landing pad at Mandapam along with local security officials, Railway authorities and representatives of the District Administration.
