TDP Chief recasts Polit buro
Hyderabad, Aug 8 (UNI) Inducting TDP founder N T Rama Rao's son N Harikrishna into the party's Polit buro, the highest-decision making body, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today dropped three functionaries while recasting his team to get ready for the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in 2009.
Giving prominence to women, minorities and youth, I have picked up the 'best team' to ensure social justice and keep the party fit for the next elections, Mr Naidu told in a press conference here.
Highlighting the composition of the new 176-member team, which included 10 vice-presidents, six general secretaries, 10 official spokespersons, 26 organising secretaries and 63 secretaries, Mr Naidu said to encourage youth, 18 youngsters were made joint-secretaries.
Those removed from the Polit buro were party's Prakasam district President and MLA K Balramkrishnamurthy, Karimnagar district President L Ramana and Sivananda Reddy from Kurnool.
The party would decide on candidates for the polls well in advance, he added.
Party leader in the Rajya Sabha R Chandrasekar Reddy and General Secretary K Srihari would be the ex-officio members of the Polit buro, comprising, among others, TDP Parliamentary Party Leader K Yerran Naidu, former Assembly speakers Y Ramakrishna Goud and Pratibha Bharati, Former union minister Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, TDP Legislature Party deputy leaders T Devender Goud and N Janardhan Reddy and TDLP secretary E Dayakar Rao.
