Stop looking at education as ''industry'': Patil
Kolhapur, Aug 8 (UNI) Criticising the growing tendency among the section of people to look at education as an ''industry'' to make money through educational institutes, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said it should be opposed from all quarters and sincere efforts should be made to end this trend.
Speaking at a function organised here to mark the 20th death anniversary of Shikshanmaharshi late Dr Bapuji Salunkhe, Mr Patil, who also holds the Home portfolio, said these people set up bogus educational institutes and demand lakhs of rupees as donation for these institutes during admission.
Lauding the contribution and efforts of late Salunkhe for better education, he pointed out that both parents and teachers should work hard for the betterment of younger generation.
