Shahabuddin allowed to cast his vote
New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) The Supreme court today permitted RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin, who is in custody, to cast his vote for the Vice Presidential Elections on August 10 in New Delhi.
Shahabuddin is presently lodged in Siwan district jail in Bihar following his conviction in kidnapping cum murder case in which he has been awarded life imprisonment.
A bench comprising Justice B N Agarwal and Tarun Chatterjee directed the petitioner to bear all travel expences including that of escort party.
The MP will be taken back to jail immediately after he casts his vote.
Shahabuddin was also permitted to cast his vote in the Presidential elections in Patna on July 19 this year.
