Rajmahal colliery production to be increased:CMD

Godda, Aug 8 (UNI) Coal India Limited Chairman P S Bhattacharya today said production of Eastern Coalfield's Rajmahal Colliery project would be increased to 17 million tonnes per year in view of the increasing demand of coal.

Mr Bhattacharya, who along with Chairman cum Managing Directors of Bharat Cooking Coal Limited and Northern Coalfields Limited was on a visit to Rajamahal and Lalmatia coal mines, said the demand of coal had increased after establishment of National Thermal Power Corporation's Farakka and expansion of Kahalgaon unit.

Stressing the need of modernisation of the Rajmahal colliery Mr Bhattacharya said efforts would be made to bring it on national map.
