Rail traffic affected in Kanpur
Kanpur, Aug 8 (UNI) The rail traffic is yet to return to normal after the train accident at the Juhi rail yard here yesterday.
At least 20 passengers aboard the Jodhpur-Howrah Express (2308) were severely injured, when the engine and some coaches of the train derailed.
''The damaged track and electricity poles are being repaired,'' deputy chief traffic manager J R Meena said here.
''The movement of trains might resume by this evening, if the work of repairing gets completed,'' he added.
Several trains, including the Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express were running late.
A probe into the cause of accident had already been ordered, while the injured are under treatment.
