Puri-Hatia Tapaswani Express derails

Sambalpur, Aug 8 (UNI) Passengers of Puri-Hatia Tapaswani Express had a providential escape when six bogies of the Express train derailed between Sambalpur and Maneswar railway stations, about 20 km from here, this morning.

East Coast Railway(ECoR) sources said there were no casualties in the mishap. Senior Railway officials from Sambalpur Division rushed to spot to supervise the rescue operation. The mishap happened around 0430 hrs.

The ECoR authority cancelled the Sambalpur-Puri Intercity Express and diverted the Bhubaneswar-Kurla Express following the derailment.
