Oz to decide on Haneef's visa cancellation
Melbourne, Aug 8: A court in Brisbane will on Wednesday decide on whether to return the Australian work visa of Indian doctor Mohamed Haneef, arrested and later released in connection with the failed UK terror plot.
Haneef was cleared of terror-related charges and allowed to return to India on July 27.
His lawyers say Australian Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews had ''improperly'' cancelled his work visa so Haneef could be detained when he was granted bail by the Brisbane Magistrates Court.
The lawyers also are expected to argue against the Andrews' stand that Haneef had close links with his second cousins and Glasgow terror suspects Kafeel and Sabeel Ahmed.
Haneef was arrested at Brisbane International Airport on July 2.
