Oracle leads competition: IDC

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) Leading data platform player, Oracle has been named as the leader in data warehouse platform tools by analyst firm IDC.

According to the Survey, Oracle, with nearly 33 per cent market share, was the leader in 2006. The revenue during this period was USD 1.87 billion, a release said here today.

The release said, Oracle's growth at 13.1 per cent, was faster than the overall category growth rate of 12.5 per cent during the same period.

''Oracle showed good revenue growth across its data warehousing tools. It is well positioned to deliver the platform tools and new capabilities such as Spatial Information Management that companies need in order to drive better visibility within their organisations,'' said Vice President Business Analytics Research at IDC, Dan Vesset.
