Exide signs agreement to develop smaller lead acid batteries
Kolkata, Aug 08 (UNI) Exide Industries Limited, the largest manufacturer of lead acid storage batteries in South Asia, today announced that it had entered into an agreement to jointly develop bipolar technology with Atraverda Limited, UK, a research organisation.
If successful, this would make lead acid batteries smaller, lighter and more environment friendly and enable exide to develop bio-polar lead acid batteries for a range of power storage applications, company sources said.
" The agreement with Atraverda is a small but significant step towards reinforcing Exide's technology leadership, " Managing Director and CEO T.V.Radhanathan said.
