Case registered against TDP leaders
Eluru, Aug 8 (UNI) A case was filed against former minister and district Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President K Subbarayudu and former Zilla Parishad Chairman K Jayaraju on the charges of violating prohibitory orders and obstructing the Cabinet Minister's canvoy at the Collectorate here yesterday, demanding action against Vungutur legislator V Vasanthakumar.
Police said the prohibitory orders under section 144 had been in force near the District Collectorate in view of the recent agitations by various political parties. In the wake of the probhitory orders the police had erected barricades at the Collectorate.
Meanwhile, Social Welfare and District in-charge minister P Subhashchandrabose visited the city and participated in District Review Council(DRC) meeting at the Collectorate.
Police said the TDP leaders led by Mr Subbarayudu and Mr Jayaraju broke the barricades and obstructed the minister's convoy and the minister. They also obstructed the police from discharging their duties following which the police registered a case against the leaders and ten others.
