BJP candidate Dinesh Sarangi files nomination

Jamshedpur, Aug 8 (UNI) BJP candidate Dinesh Sarangi today filed his nomination papers for August 29 Jamshepur Parliamentary byelection.

Mr Sarangi was accompanied by top NDA leaders, including former Chief Minister and leader of opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Arjun Munda, BJP state president P N Singh, BJP MLAs Raghuvar Das and Saryu Rai, state JD(U) president Jaleshwar Mahto and host of BJP leaders.

After filing nomination papers, Mr Sarangi predicted a straight contest with the UPA candidate and the slain JMM MP Sunil Mahto's widow Suman Mahto.

He said the coming byelection would be crucial for the state's politics.

Exuding confidence of winning the polls, Mr Sarangi said, ''Our aim is to dethrone the UPA government in the state and at the Centre. The development work in Jharkhand has come to a griniding halt and the people of the state are looking for a change.'' He said his association with BJP leader Shailendra Mahto, who lost ticket in a close race with Mr Sarangi, was for about twenty years and would help him win the bypoll.
