Bihar DSP's son gunned down, brother under suspicion
Patna, Aug 8 (UNI) In a gruesome end to a possible family feud within the higher echelon of the society, the son of a Deputy Superintendent of Bihar police was gunned down allegedly by his youngern brother at their residence here today sending a shockwave among the local people.
According to the police,though there was no witness to the day- light murder,preliminary investigation revealed that Rakesh's younger brother Bikash Paswan, student of a local college,opened fire on him after an altercation between the two.
While Rakesh died on the spot on receiving six gun shots, Bikash fled immediately after the incident and is still absconding though a search is on to nab him,the police said.
They said their sister, who was the only other person present in the house when the incident took place, however, refused to shed any light on the issue saying she was away in the courtyard and only heard the gun shots and after she rushed in she found her brother lying dead in pool of blood in his study.
The father of the deceased,DSP Kaleswar Paswan,who is presently posted at Bagha in the flood affected West Champaran district in North Bihar bordering Nepal,had been informed about the loss.His wife also died a few years ago.
Meanwhile,the police has lodged a case of murder against 'unidentifed assailants' in absence of any witness to the killing.
