12 arrested for running sex racket

Kapurthala, Aug 8 (UNI) Police today busted a flesh trade racket being run from a house near Dhaliwal village with the arrest of twelve persons including six woman.

Talking to mediapersons here today, SSP Rakesh Aggarwal said the kingpin of the racket, Pinky of Kapurthala district, used to run the brothel from her house and charged s 2500 to 5000 from every customer. The police raided the house with the help of a decoy customer who paid Rs 5,000 for a girl.

The police has sealed her house and also arrested her husband and son for helping her in running the brothel.

The SSP said Pinky had already been booked four times in the past 4 years by the police in the same matters.

Besides Pinky, the other accused were identified as Rekha of Jalandhar, Asha from Adampur, Aman from Hoshairpur, Rattu from Khalchian, Ganju from Authala village in Jalandhar, Sunni Kumar Haider Ali from Kapurthala, Liaqat Ali, Manu kumar and Manu from Jalandhar.

The police has registered a case under sections 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Immoral Trafficking act.
