Walkout over border area development report

Bangalore, Aug 7 (UNI) Vatal Kannada Chaluvali Paksha member Vatal Nagaraj today staged a walkout in the Karnataka Assembly expressing anguish over the state government for not taking any action on the interim report given by him on border area development even seven years after he had submitted the report.

Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, Mr Nagaraj tore the report to pieces and staged a walk out protesting against the manner in which the government had treated it.

Home Minister M P Prakash in his reply said the state government was serious on the development of the border areas and would take action by going through all the reports including his.

Not satisfied with the reply, Mr Nagaraj staged a walk out.

Speaker Krishna instructed the government to provide the action taken report on each and every report it received to the house every six months.
