Two arrested for attempting murder of friend in HP
Shimla, Aug 7 (UNI) A day after two youths slit the throat of their friend in a hotel room here, the Himachal Pradesh Police today claimed to have arrested them from a factory in the industrial area of Baddi in Solan district of the state.
The two, identified only as Bunty and Tishul, were arrested from a factory in Baddi late last night following their attempt to murder one of their friend, identified as Dikshit Rajput, in a hotel room, near the state bus terminal, Shimla S P A P Singh told UNI here.
He said almost three hours after three people had checked into the hotel at about 1500 hrs, two walked out at around 1800 hrs.
Minutes later one of the waiters of the hotel received a call from the room, which was locked from outside, and on peeping inside, he saw a man lying on the bed following which the police was informed.
Mr Singh said on breaking open the door, police found a person lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) where he was operated upon.
His condition continues to remain critical, he added.
The injured person, Rajput, had written the name of this assailants and a number, which was later found to be the telephone number of his residence at Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, he said.
He said Rajput's father told the police that he had run away from home a few days ago with a sum of Rs 40,000 and was last seen with one of his friends working at Baddi at Haridawar.
The SP said that the two were being brought here and efforts were to establishment their identities, adding that a case of attempt to murder and robbery has been registered against them.
