Students' body locks govt offices

Kohima, Aug 07 (UNI) The Lotha Students' Union (LSU) have sealed the chambers of 18 government officers yesterday for their absence from duty and alleged truancy.

LSU president Nzanthung K.Yanthen, in a release here today, said the union was compelled to close down the offices as these officers turned down its repeated pleas to be sincere and regular in their duties for people's benefit.

The LSU had alleged that the government officials were irregular and deprived the people of their basic needs.

They also threatened the officials with dire consequences if their ''repeated appeals'' were ignored.
