Special leave for Punjab govt empolyees for MC polls tomorrow

Chandigarh, Aug 7 (UNI) The Punjab government has decided to grant special leave for tomorrow to all those employees who are voters of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala but are posted outside the Municipal limits of these cities.

The leave has been granted in view of the Municipal Corporation polls in the court cities tomorrow. This leave would not be deducted from the leave account of the employees.

An official spokesman said today that industrial workers, who are voters in the four cities are also entitled for one day paid holiday under section 135B(1) RP ACT, 1951.

The state government has already declared a holiday for tomorrow in the four cities in view of the elections.
